Bentley Brooklands destined to become collectors' classic
Since its launch at the Geneva Salon in March, the new Bentley Brooklands has captured the hearts of customers across the globe, with the first year's production of this hand-assembled, luxury coupe already sold out.

Speaking at the recent opening of a new dealership in Istanbul, Turkey, Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen, Bentley's Chairman and Chief Executive, said:

"The interest in Brooklands since its unveiling in Geneva has exceeded our expectations. It is surely destined to become a collectors' classic."

The lifetime production of this luxurious coupe will be strictly limited to just 550 cars, ensuring exclusivity. Deliveries to customers begin in the first quarter of 2008.

The Bentley Brooklands marks a return to Bentley's heartland. For decades powerful coupes have been icons of the Bentley brand and the Brooklands continues that proud lineage.

As a coupe, the Bentley Brooklands is unique , its remarkably spacious cabin providing the ultimate in first-class travel for four adults at any speed. The low, fast roofline with dramatically raked front and rear screens and muscular lines give the Brooklands a distinctively sleek, sporting stance. The effect is contemporary yet unmistakeably Bentley.

Brooklands' enhanced chassis provides the handling to match the awesome power of the 530bhp (395kW) twin-turbocharged 6 ¾-litre engine, the most powerful V8 that Crewe, Bentley's home for over 60 years, has ever produced. This legendary engine also develops the highest-ever torque output of any V8 automotive engine in the world, producing 1050Nm (774lb.ft).
Elton's Bentley for auction
The Tudor Red 1985 Bentley Continental Convertible once owned by Sir Elton John is to be auctioned by H&H Classic Auctions at Syon Park, London, May 24. This suitably flamboyant motorcar famously starred in the video for Elton's hit song Nikita.

The body was specially crafted by premier coachbuilder Mulliner Park Ward of Harlesden and the car's long list of special fitments included: colour-coded radiator veins, Parchment trim piped in red, extra speakers and, unsurprisingly, a 10-disc, boot mounted CD player.

H&H sold the car to its current owner in 2002. Said Managing Director and Chief Auctioneer Simon Hope, This is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of well-documented pop history, though the Bentley will be equally appealing to any lover of these desirable automobiles.

The car carries an estimate of £44,000-48,000.

Bentley Continental GTC makes its UK debut in style
The Continental GTC, Bentley's new luxury 2 + 2 convertible, was revealed for the first time in the UK at London's Canary Wharf. Over 200 guests attended an exclusive party at East Wintergarden to celebrate the arrival of Bentley's latest grand tourer. The Continental GTC completes the Continental family of cars that includes the Continental GT and four-door Continental Flying Spur, delivering phenomenal performance and style with all the excitement of classic open-top Bentley motoring.

Christine Gaskell, Member of the Board, Bentley Motors Limited, hosted the event that was held in partnership with Breast Cancer Care, the UK's leading provider of breast cancer information and support. Stephanie Jacobs, Chair of Breast Cancer Care joined Christine to announce the winners of a luxury prize draw that raised in excess of £5,000 for Breast Cancer Care. All prizes were generously donated by luxury brands including Breitling, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Links of London.

We were proud to celebrate the launch of the Continental GTC in partnership with Breast Cancer Care and we are thrilled with the amount of money raised on the evening, commented Wayne Hawkes, Bentley's UK Head of Marketing and Communications.

The aim of the party was to generate a buzz and excitement for the Continental GTC in the UK, our home market, following the worldwide reveal of our new car at the New York Auto Show on 12 April. All of our invited guests were women and the event truly delivered an element of glamour that is synonymous with our marque.

The new Continental GTC ensures Bentley's exemplary standards of craftsmanship and design are on full display when the roof is lowered, offering customers a thrilling combination of sophisticated open-top motoring with outstanding performance from its W12 twin-turbocharged 6-litre engine. With over 552bhp it is capable of achieving a top speed of 190mph with the roof down, increasing to 195mph when the roof is raised.

This event is the first of a series of exciting previews that are to take place at Bentley's 22 dealerships across the country over the coming weeks. The Continental GTC will make its debut public appearance at the British International Motor Show in Excel London 18 - 30 July.
The Continental GTC, Bentley Motors' new luxury 2+2 convertible
When the stunning convertible goes on sale later this year it will complete the Bentley Continental model range, following the introduction of the highly successful Continental GT in 2003 and four-door Continental Flying Spur in 2005.

With a top speed of 195mph (312km/h), a sophisticated all-wheel drive system, state-of-the-art 12-cylinder engine, advanced air suspension and ultra-stiff body structure, the Continental GTC displays all the poise, exhilarating performance and dynamic handling of the Continental GT. In common with its stable mates, the interior of the new Continental GTC provides an unrivalled standard of craftsmanship, utilising natural wood veneers and leather hides of the finest quality, which are on full display when you lower the elegant, electro-hydraulically operated soft-top roof.

The Continental GTC is the most distinctive new Bentley yet, explains Bentley Motors' Chairman and Chief Executive, Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen. It is very elegant and at the same time effortlessly modern. It will appeal to many different customers: people who are tired of driving sports cars that require too much effort; people who want to move up from more standard convertibles; and people who want to make a statement about what they drive, yet still own a car that they can use every day of the year.

The Continental GTC becomes the second convertible to grace the current Bentley range. It follows the recently announced return of the evocative Azure name for Bentley's Arnage-derived flagship four-seater convertible.

While the Azure offers the ultimate glamour, sophistication and accommodation for adults in supreme comfort, the 2+2 Continental GTC is designed for customers looking to enjoy the phenomenal performance, style and excitement of the Continental GT with the additional benefits of classic open-top Bentley motoring.

Bentley Kent's brand new showroom
It has taken seven months of skilled design and development and an investment of over £1 million. Now Bentley Kent's brand new showroom in London Road, Sevenoaks, is nearing completion.

Construction started last July and the striking glass and aluminium-clad building is due to be completed at the end of February.

Since our appointment last June as the county's only Bentley dealership, our determination to provide exemplary service has kept us in close touch with our customers, said general manager, Ian Barrow. We're now looking forward to moving into our new home and showcasing the range of new and pre-owned Bentleys.

Likely to become something of a landmark on London Road, Bentley Kent will reflect the quality, craftsmanship and excitement of the Bentley range, with marble flooring, soft leather furnishings and a state-of-the-art commissioning area where customers can specify their own dream Bentley.

The Bentley range includes the flagship Arnage and highly acclaimed Continental GT coupe as well as the Continental Flying Spur, the fastest production four door car in the world. Up to 20 pre-owned quality cars will also be available with demonstrator cars on hand for customers to experience.
Harwoods man is Bentley's best
For Paul Laker, sales specialist at Harwoods of Sussex in Pulborough, selling Bentleys has always had its rewards - not least being the regular opportunities to get behind the wheel of a new Bentley. But now, Paul is sporting a rather different kind of reward - a Bentley Breitling wrist watch worth £15,000.

Paul's new chronograph is the prize for his outstanding success in selling the Bentley Arnage model in 2005. Paul had to beat stiff competition from 21 other UK Bentley dealerships. Each month, Bentley Motors in Crewe awarded a £5,000 Breitling watch to the best salesperson, but it was 31 year-old Paul who clinched the overall prize.

And the split second accuracy of his new watch came into its own at Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix. Also part of Paul's reward was the ride of a lifetime in Bentley's Le Mans-winning Speed 8 racing car - specially converted to a two-seater and driven by 2003 Le Mans winner, Guy Smith.

Delve a little into Paul's past, and perhaps his Bentley success comes as no surprise. As a child he shunned the usual train set and played at car showrooms in his parents' conservatory, less than a quarter of a mile from the Harwoods showroom. He would often pop in to pinch the brochures. At the age of 12, he started cleaning cars for Harwoods on Saturdays and in school holidays, and he has worked full-time for the Bentley dealership since leaving The Weald School in Billingshurst. Now he is married to Anna and has a daughter Hollie, who will be two next month.

As a boy I always loved looking at the fabulous cars at Harwoods, and dreaming that one day I might get to drive one, said Paul. That dream has come true, but the thrill of being driven around Silverstone in the Speed 8 was beyond my dreams. The Breitling is a wonderful watch to own, and seems to have been engineered just like a Bentley.

Simon Elkin, Harwoods general manager, said: We are all delighted for Paul who has shown what can be achieved through dedication, hard work and a real love for what he does and a total commitment to Harwoods and our customers.
Norwich Bentley dealership on track for record year
Just months after being acquired by European Motor Holdings (EMH), the official Bentley dealer for Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Michael Powles Ltd in Norwich, is heading for its most successful year ever.

Michael Powles offers traditional service with a very personal touch that has evolved through its history as a family-owned business, said general manager, Patrick Sneezum. EMH ownership allows us to build on the excellent existing service and it's already paying off, with 2005 likely to be our best ever year.

Michael Powles is very much part of Norwich life with many local events, including the Norfolk Show, supported by the dealership. Fifteen highly-trained people from the local area are employed at the Duke Street showroom and service facility. Significantly it enjoys great staff loyalty, with several members of the team having worked with the dealership since its original opening over 10 years ago.

Sneezum continued: One of the first benefits of EMH ownership is that our customers have access to a much larger stock and choice of Bentley Approved pre-owned Bentleys and other prestige used cars.

Appointed earlier this year, Norfolk-born Patrick lives with his family in Norwich. The new EMH management and Patrick's appointment, combined with the arrival of the superb Bentley Continental GT and new Continental Flying Spur mean the prestigious dealership has welcomed many new customers this year. Patrick's team is already looking forward to the arrival of the new Azure and Continental GTC convertible in 2006:

We have some of the fastest, most luxurious and glamorous cars available, so whatever your Bentley requirement, be it new, Bentley Approved, service or parts, you are guaranteed a warm welcome at Michael Powles.
Jack Barclay unveils new Mayfair showroom
After 11 months of meticulous refurbishment as well as a £2 million investment Jack Barclay Bentley, a London motoring icon and Bentley's oldest and largest UK dealership, has returned to its home in Berkeley Square.

Jack Barclay's redesigned showroom retains several of the classic features symbolising its unique partnership with the famous Bentley marque over eight decades. However, a host of modern customer facilities and contemporary styling cues have also been incorporated to usher in a new era.

Over time Jack Barclay has become something of an unofficial Mayfair landmark, and this year we've worked exceptionally hard to protect this remarkable heritage while also looking to the future, says Brent Smith, Jack Barclay's dealer principal.

The final result is a showroom that remains true to Jack Barclay's passion for Bentley, including his own exploits at Brooklands in the 1920s when he raced alongside the celebrated 'Bentley Boys.' It's also a modern flagship dealership for Bentley in the heart of London and the perfect place to experience the Arnage model range and the Continental Flying Spur and Continental GT, added Brent.

The new showroom has been significantly enlarged and features a dedicated customer commissioning area and state-of-the-art Bentley IT facilities. A private specification room provides customers with the opportunity to browse through the vast range of exterior finishes, hides and wood trims - all examples of Bentley's bespoke and unrivalled craft and design ethos.

Many signature and Bentley-inspired designs remain. The black and white chequered 'race flag' floor (a celebration of Bentley's unique achievements at Le Mans and Brooklands) has been restored to its former glory. And the famous boardroom, which houses a remarkable collection of photography, has been preserved.

Richard Gordon, Bentley's UK regional director said:

Jack Barclay's revitalised presence in Berkeley Square represents the very best of both Jack Barclay and Bentley. The original character, heritage and passion Jack Barclay and his successors helped to establish remains, yet the team has also created a comfortable, stylish and contemporary environment. The Jack Barclay story is definitely ready to start a new chapter.

Established in 1927, Jack Barclay is the only authorised Bentley dealer in London, selling the Arnage model range including the Arnage T, Arnage R and RL. The Bentley model range also includes the Continental GT and this has recently been joined by the highly acclaimed four-door Continental Flying Spur.
